just sweat.

Everyone has those battles, struggles, and stresses that they wish they could simply just avoid. Myself included, I know that we would all love a chance to be able to escape those hectic moments. My happy place is sweating out my stresses at the gym. The gym and I have a love-hate relationship, which I am sure many of you can relate too. Getting myself there can sometimes be a struggle, but once I am there and in my own zone, it becomes one of my favourite escapes from reality.

I have found that the more I make going to the gym a part of my weekly routine, the more I have grown to enjoy it. I like to plan in advance when I want to go and this gives me motivation and something to look forward to during stressful times. And if you're not a fan of the gym, that is no excuse at all - find any activity that makes you work hard and JUST SWEAT.

When I am at the gym I like to find the perfect playlist to push me harder through my workout. As I mentioned in my last post, 8tracks is my favourite place to find any playlist, especially while at the gym.

While in my zone at the gym I do feel amazing, my favourite part about going is that feeling I get afterwards. I feel so much more accomplished and that I can take on anything. My gym routine has made me a much more confident, happy, and less stressful individual. Exercise releases endorphins, which create feelings of happiness and euphoria. Individuals that suffer from depression, anxiety, or any mental illness will definitely be able to attest to this. Check out the magazine, Shape, for more mental health benefits of exercising.

& if all else fails, JUST BREATHE.

  2. I never looked at the gym in association with feeling happy and stress free. I always looked at it as a lot of physical work for physical results, thanks for sharing how it can boost your inner child too!

  3. I can relate Lexa, I also have a love-hate relationship with the gym, but the only thing that helps me relax is running, the more I sweat the better I feel!

  4. I completely agree Lexa. The gym is also my favourite escape from reality. Working out benefits your physical and mental state which is why I love it. Great blog!

  5. I feel so much better after a workout. If I'm having a bad day a trip to the gym seems to do the trick. I can relate to everything you have posted in this blog. It is great! Keep up the good work.
